Panorama.am reporter recorded an incident of old trees being cut down in a park adjacent to the Main Avenue. Asked what was the reason for cutting the green trees, the work crewmember responded those were “rotten”.

the worker consistently refused to answer whether there was permission, authorizing the work.

To note, the trees have always been green and haven’t been watered after the launch of the repair works in the park. It has been more than a year that renovation works are underway  in the area situated between Mashtots Avenue and Saryan Street.

Earlier. Panorama.am leant from Yerevan Municipality that renovation works would be complete by the end of 2015. The construction banner placed in front of the park mentioned June 1 2016 as the end date of the works, yet demolition works are still underway.

After Panorama.am enquires the works were suspended.

To note, the construction of the park is implemented by TASHIR Group. According to the plan, a total 8,846 sq. m area of the park will be renovated and supplied with modern solutions, street lighting, alleys and new pavements to serve as a recreational area for the inhabitants.
