Only four Percent of Armenian Population run their own Business
“We attach great importance to the development of small and midsized businesses. Only four percent of the population of Armenia run their own businesses. This is a low figure,” NS ANC Party member Levon Zurabyan said during the conference entitled “Free market economy: Future vision of Armenia” convened by National Platform of Democracy and F. Naumann Foundation for Freedom.
According to him one of the priorities of ANC Party is the development of public capitalism to assist more people run their own businesses.
“We believe those goals can be reached through liberalization,” stated L. Zurabyan, adding that monopoly dominates not only in politics and economy but also in policy making.
“We want to use this opportunity with the organizers of this conference and to work out alternative approaches in the policy of running the economy. We want to bring together lecturers, economist and other reformers aiming to establish an organizing committee and to organize meetings in 3-4 months to make reforms in Armenia,” L. Zurabyan noted.
