Iran not directly engaged in Mosul liberation
Speaking to reporters on Friday, Ali Akbar Velayati who also serves as the Secretary-General of the Global Assembly of Islamic Awakening said: “Backing legitimate governments of the region like Iraq and Syria remains as Iran’s absolute policy and the supports have been delivered in the form of political advisory or at the request of these governments.” MEHR news agency reports.
Leader’s senior advisor once more reiterated that Iran has no direct military presence in Mosul liberation project adding that during five years of fighting against Takfiri movements and atrocious terrorists as well as their supporters, Iran has always stood on the side of regional states; “the coincidence of Mosul liberation operation and the presence of scholars of the Islamic world in Iraq at the invitation of Iran is an indication of political support which helps establish an integrated campaign with an emphasis on Islamic commonalities by avoiding tensions.”
