Naira Zohrabyan: Issue of Interaction via skype remains pending for three years
The submitted program is a good one. We all realize that we will approve it by vote and put it in a shelf. Do not come up with utopian programs,” Progressive Armenia faction member Naira Zohrabyan said turning to the primary speaker Deputy Minister of Justice Suren Krmoyan during the discussion of the package of draft laws on making supplements in the RA Law on “Employment” and making amendments and supplements in the RA “Penal Code”.
The MP noted that they had voiced and issue which had not been tackled for three years. “As a result of emigration there are inmates In Armenia who have no relatives here. They ask to be enabled to interact with their relatives via skype for half an hour thus realising their right of visits. This issue has not been solved for three years and now you have come up with a utopian program,” N. Zohrabyan noted.
Suren Krmoyan said that the problem voiced by the MP is actual and they are conducting talks with the Red Cross. They hope that the agreements will be reached and the computers will be available in 1-2 years.
Naira Zohrabyan offered to organize fundraising in the National Assemble and to buy 7-8 computers.
Suren Krmoyan said in the coming year one of the priorities of the ministry will be the penitentiary service, namely the issues of introducing electronic penal system and providing technical equipment.
