Reporters participate in chess tournament
Today the chess tournament between the mass media representatives has kicked off in Yerevan. It will be held in 7 rounds applying the rules of rapid chess. 10 minutes will be allocated to each match with 10 seconds for each move.
The tournament is organized by Association of Foreign Correspondents. Director Tigran Hovhannisyan told Panorama.am that the tournament is being held for the second time already.
“I can state that the interest towards the tournament has increased. Last year 12 representatives from mass media took part in it, this year we have 26 participants,” he noted.
The participants ranking 1-3 places will be awarded with cups and money.
The general chess arbiter of the tournament is Vice-President of the Chess Federation of Yerevan Norayr Kalantaryan.
