60 films to be screened within Kin International Film Festival
On November 4-8 13th Kin International Film Festival will be held in Yerevan. The festival organizers told Panorama.am that 60 films from 20 countries are to be screened within the framework of different programs (competition program, guests program and retrospective screening).
The festival aims at restating a woman’s role in the society, voicing out her issues through the films, establishing a new basis to promote the films made by Armenian female filmmakers, discovering new names, as well as giving hand to a better understanding of different cultures.
This year retrospective screening program of the festival is dedicated to Armenian documentarian Arsha Ovannesova. “The Woman from Steel and Tears” documentary film, which tells about her creative path, will be screened.
The Guests program has featured international award-winning films, including “Master and Tatyana” (director Giedrė Žickytė), “Dust Cloth” (director Ahu Ozturk) and “The Seagulls” by Ella Manzheeva will conclude the festival.
A round table discussion on the topic of “Women and Cinematography” will be held within the festival, and jury members Ruth Olshan and “The Seagulls” producer Elena Glikman will present master classes.
