Militants force civilians to pay money to leave rebel-held Eastern Aleppo
A video was leaked on Tuesday showing militants in rebel-held east Aleppo charging civilians money to leave the besieged neighborhoods, Ria Novosty reported.
Based on the footage shown in the video, the Islamist rebels are charging the trapped civilians 150,000 Syrian Pounds ($300 U.S.) in order to leave east Aleppo.
The Islamist rebels and their western allies have repeatedly accused the Russian and Syrian governments of blocking aid to the besieged neighborhoods of east Aleppo, despite the fact they have attempted to deliver humanitarian supplies on a number of occasions to the beleaguered civilians.
An estimated 50,000-250,000 civilians still remain inside the east Aleppo neighborhoods, as both the Syrian government forces and Islamist rebels intensify their battle for this imperative provincial capital in northern Syria.
