Forgive but never forget, the speaker of the Slovak parliament says
Someone who does not know the Armenian history will not understand what sacrifices one is able to make. Smart people should have knowledge of the Armenia history and understand it, the Speaker of the National Council of the Slovak Republic Andrej Danko stated on Thursday during the press conference with Armenia’s National Assembly Speaker Galust Sahakyan.
Andrej Danko recalled the statement that he heard in Armenia and like to refer to: ”While it is possible to forgive but never forget”.
“However, I think we should not make tragedy out of the history. The sentence I referred should be important for anyone who has respect to own traditions and ancestors,” Speaker of the National Council said, expressing his satisfaction over the adoption of the Armenian Genocide by his parliament.
The Speaker of Armenian National Assembly Galust Sahakyan on his part stressed that the recognition and condemnation of the Armenian Genocide is vital for the future prevention of the similar tragedies.
