20 thousand Syrian Armenians moved to Armenia due to the Syrian crisis
The support and the steps aimed at integration of the Syrian Armenians in Armenia are highly appreciated by the international community, Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia Karen Nazaryan told on Thursday during the discussions over the 2017 Draft State Budget held in the National Assembly.
The deputy minister stated that 20 thousand Syrian Armenians have moved to Armenia since the beginning of the Syrian crisis, referring to the data presented by the Department of Migration and Refugees at the RA Government.
Nazaryan, however, mentioned that in some cases Armenia serves as a transit state for some of the Syrian Armenians, while some of them reside in the motherland temporarily.
The deputy minister ensured competent state bodies of Armenia exert every effort to assist the arriving population in get economically integrated in the motherland.
