US, China, and Russia struggling to dominate the IT sphere, Louis Pouzin says
“Armenia wasn’t the in the list of the states I had the privilege to visit, and I am very glad today to be here,” Louis Pouzin, the head of the Open Root company, one of the co-founders of the web, told reporters on Monday during a reception organized by Viva-Cell MTS by the representatives of Armenia’s IT sphere.
Pouzin stated his visit provides a good opportunity to get familiarized with the locals and exchange experience and ideas.
“Armenia has recently registered great success in the IT sphere with accomplishment within years, which other states would have achieved in about 50 years. This appears to be a rapid pace to keep up with evolving technology,” the head of Open Root company said.
Louis Pouzin, however, stressed that no much benefit from technology development is expected unless there are enough specialist with relevant education who would transfer knowledge to the service and practical activity. The guest also spoke of the current challenges the IT sphere faces. “Today, three major powers – the US, Russia, and China - cultivate big suspicions to each other. This has served a ground for them to create certain difficulties and struggle. This appears to be a great challenge of the future, and no answer exists how to cope with this. These states wish to enjoy absolute sovereignty in the internet from each other,” he said.
To note, Louis Pouzin arrived in Armenia on November 5. Pouzin has been named the laureate of the Armenian President’s 2016 IT award to be given on November at a solemn ceremony in the Presidential Palace.
