
Karine Kuyumjyan: Armenian population declines
Armenia’s population is 2, 993, 900 as of October 1, 2016 which is less by 10, 100 compared with the same period of the previous year and 4,700 less of January data this year, Karine Kuyumjyan, Head of the National Statistical Service's Census and Demography Department, told reporters on Monday.
According to Kuyumjyan, the country’s natural population growth has been 9,400 within nine months. She added that the population decreased due to migration which is 14,100 for the indicated period.
