52.3 percent of the RA permanent population is estimated to be women
As of 1 January 2016 the permanent population of Armenia was estimated to be 2 988 6 people which had decrased by 12 thousand people compared to the figures of 2015.
The National Statistical Service of the RA released the report "Social Snapshot and Poverty in Armenia, 2016", which presents the trends of the population toll in 2015, figures regarding the migration and poverty, informs that the share of urban population in the total population makes up 63.6 percent in comparison with 36.4 percent of rural population.
As of the beginning of 2016 men made up 47.7 percent of the RA permanent population in comparison with 52.3 percent of female population. The average age of the population is 35.9 years with differences regarding the two sexes_ 37.6 years-old for women and 34.1 for men.
