Shavarsh Kocharyan: No need to worry that Donald Trump is not aware of Karabakh conflict
"We deal with a stable system with a previously drawn up programs and approaches. We will certainly get acquainted with the foreign policy to be adopted by the US State Department," after Thursday’s Cabinet session the Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia, Shavarsh Kocharyan, told the reporters in response to the question whether the US policy towards our region is possible to change after Trump holds the post of the president.
Shavarsh Kocharyan believes that there is no need to worry but there is always something to be done.
The reporters reminded that a few years ago Trump had mentioned that he was not aware of Karabakh conflict. In response, Deputy Foreign Minister noted that US State Department is a stable agency with a stable institutional memory. It is not necessary that a candidate should have a thorough comprehension regarding all the matters in the world, but he will naturally become well aware of the issue if he engages in studying it.
