Armenia National Team Head Coach: All lads, including Mkhitaryan, count on victory
Players of the Armenian National Football team are in positive tune, newly appointed Head Coach of Armenia’s National Team Artur Petrosyan told reporters ahead of the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualification match against Montenegro to be held on Friday in Yerevan Republican stadium.
At a press conference Arthur Petrosyan pointed out to the strengths of the opposing side, however mentioned that the Armenian team is ready to struggle for three points.
“I have known most of the squad players since my work in the national team two years. I have excellent impressions. There is certainly a serious sense of responsibility to get a good result. All the lads, including Mkhitaryan, are in positive tune for tomorrow’s game,” Petrosyan said.
The head coach next confirmed that Davit Manoyan will miss the match due to an injury.
“Montenegro are the favorites, yet I asses the chances as equal. We will do our best to win. The attacking potential of the opposing side is quite mighty. The team plays an organized and quality football. We will try to show attractive play and win, however a draw will be a positive result as well in the wake of our recent results,” the coach said.
The National team head coach pointed out to the number of problems and the challenges ahead of the team which, he said, should be solved gradually. One of those is the psychology of the players.
“The team is psychologically ready for tomorrow’s match and all the subsequent games. Let us see on the pitch. However, there the psychological frustration about the fact that our last victory was right three years ago,” Petrosyan said.
