Seven historical monuments are planned to be restored in 2017
"The funds allocated for the restoration of historical monuments under 2017 state budget will be directed to the complete reconstruction of seven historical monuments with their infrastructures," Minister of Culture Armen Amiryan noted during the meeting with the reporters in Aghdzk village.
In his words during this time of the next year 7 cultural and historical monuments will turn into tourist attractions.
"if we manage to turn 7-10 monuments into tourist attractions, I believe we can register quite a good progress," he mentioned.
A. Amiryan named Mkhitar Gosh Mausoleum as one of the seven buildings to be restored and the discussions regarding the remaining six monuments are still underway.
"We have some options and are still discussing which one is more profitable also taking into account North-South highway, infrastructures," the Minister noted.
Notably 13.798.0 million AMD is planned to be allocated to implement cultural programs under 2017 state budget in comparison with 14.211.8 million AMD under 2016 budget. Budgetary allocations for the restoration and maintenance of monuments and cultural values make up 410.6 million AMD.
