Armenian Writers' Union of Javakhk needs to be promoted but in order to engage in wide range of activities an office is Akhalkalaki is to be established. Jnews.ge website reports.
In spite of all the difficulties the Armenian Writers' Union continues its activities and expects an active involvement on the part of the society to realize all the planned actions.
The Union was established in 1990. At that time it was the Georgian branch of Writers' Union of Armenia. After the collapse of the Soviet Union the union ended up in a critical condition and only in 2004 it was reestablished as a separate organisation. However after 2008 the registration number of the organization disappeared and a company bearing similar name appeared under a different registration number and with a different staff.
"I was given a month to present appropriate documents proving that I had established that union. I collected all the documents and sent them to Tbilisi. They restored the organization providing me with a license," Head of Armenian Writers' Union of Javakhk Yegor Movsisyan noted.
Currently the union has 5 members: Yegor Movsisyan, Armenak Asatryan, Hamlet Anatolyan, Karlen Karapetyan and Rubik Avetisyan. Today one of the priorities of the union's head is to find out talanted pupils and students to join the union and become activists.
According to Yegor Movsisyan an office is Akhalkalaki needs to be established to promote the union's activities, as it had no gathering place. But currently there are no funds to establish the office.
Movsisyan hopes that the union will engage in vigorous activities.
