New kindergarten to open in Karin Tak village, NKR
A new kindergarten, currently under construction in Karin Tak village (near Shushi, NKR), is the forth major project which is implemented by the Hayastan All-Armenian Fund. Previously a community center and new portable-water network have been built here, as well as the local school gym has been renovated.
As the Public Relations Department of Hayastan All-Armenian Fund reports, the construction of the kindergarten is co-sponsored by the Devejian and Ekserciyan families, Krikor Simsiroghlu of Argentina, the Greek-Armenian and Cypriot-Armenian communities and the NKR government.
Over 50 children will be able to attend the kindergarten. Due to the newly constructed boiler room and central heating system the kindergarten will provide comfortable environment in cold winter. The outdoor playground with various play equipment will ensure the children's outdoor pastime. The building is already up and the roof is completed. In summer when the interior and exterior decorations, the installation of the boiler room and the improvement of the grounds are completed, the new campus will open its doors in front of 40 children of the community.
Karin Tak has a population of over 650 with a large percentage of young people. According to Village Mayor Mkhirtar Arushanyan the birth rate increases in the village annually and there has been a strong necessity of a kindergarten. "Our villagers are strongly bonded with their land. Even during the war time when the village was under the constant shelling, our residents would not abandon their birthplace. Today, thanks to a number of successful projects, the quality of life of the villagers has improved and they have great faith in the future," Arushanyan noted.
Karin Tak community, which is located five kilometers from Shushi, was founded in the 18th century. It is among the villages that greatly suffered during NKR war of liberation. Every year on 26 January the villagers of Karin Tak commemorate the village's heroic battle and victory.
