Working group to be set up to study ways of penetrating into Iranian market on a simplified procedure
Armenian Prime Minister has tasked number of state institutions to elaborate on the export of Armenian products, namely food and agricultural goods to the Islamic Republic of Iran.
In particular, the Prime Minister instructed the RA Minister of Economic Development and Investments, Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Healthcare and Agriculture to hold a joint discussion and within five working days present a draft decision for the Prime Minister, including the one for setting up a working group.
Prime Minister Karapetyan indicated that the working group should work with the Iranian side to facilitate all the necessary requirements and procedures for the export of the Armenian goods into the Iranian market, including the establishment of the relevant institutional structures to make Armenian goods meet to the required criteria of the Iranian market and penetrate on a simplified procedure.
The head of the working group will be tasked to come up with a report of the implemented work by December 25, Karen Karapetyan said, pointing out to the large Iranian market and Armenia’s perspective of occupying larger portion in it, considering also the existing demand.
At the same time instructions were issued to the Minister of Economic development and the head of the State Revenue Committee to initiate discussions with entrepreneurs over the perspectives of creating a free economic zone on the border with Iran.
