Ambassador Matthias Kisler: Last year was special in terms of Armenian-German relations
2016 was special in terms of Armenian-German relations. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Germany to Armenia Matthias Kisler made this announcement during the press conference held at Media Center.
“This year has been marked by intensive visits on both sides. I want to underscore the visit paid by the RA President to Berlin in April. At the end of June Germany’s Foreign Minister, who is OSCE Secretary General this year, visited Yerevan,” the ambassador noted the most important visits.
Turning to the economic relations Matthias Kisler stated that Germany is Armenia’s third biggest trading partner after Russia and China.
“In contrast to the other trading partners, it is to be mentioned that growth has been registered in the trade sphere between Armenia and Germany,” German diplomat noted.
The ambassador has also noted the two countries closely cooperate in the military sphere as well. He mentioned the successful implementation of the events within NATO Week in Armenia. Armenian delegation In Afghanistan carrying out peacekeeping mission cooperates with the German delegation as well.
