1800 children were sent home from schools and kindergartens during yesterday
On 21 November, within the prevention program which is currently implemented across the whole country, 1800 children with flu symptoms were sent home from schools and kindergartens, with medical facilities being notified about their cases. The Public Relations Department of the Ministry of Health informs in a released stament.
The results of the daily monitoring implemented by the RA Ministry of Health suggests that these days the activation of acute respiratory viruses is especially observed among minor children, which, in its turn, is a reason for overcrowded children’s hospitals in the country.
The Ministry of Health informs that there are no patients with post-influenza complications in hospitals.
Notably a prevention program is currently underway in pre-schools and schools to avoid further spread of flu and acute respiratory diseases. The program aims at prohibiting children with flu symptoms from attending schools or kindergartens.
The RA Ministry of Health once again calls upon the heads of children’s organizations to do their best to prevent children with flu symptoms from attending schools and kindergartens to avoid the further spread of acute respiratory diseases and complications.
“To note, during the last month the H3 subtype of Influenza A and other respiratory virus agents are circulating in Armenia, as well as in Georgia, Russia and Ukraine.
Meanwhile we call on our population and news agencies to refrain from making professional analysis and conclusion and to follow the official information,” the statement released by the Ministry of Health reads.
