Food safety monitoring conducted at eight meat production companies
Armenia’s Food Security State Service has conducted monitorings at 60 economic entities, head of the service Ishkhan Karapetyan told at a meeting with representatives of the meat production companies.
According to the press release issued by the agency, 8 out of the 60 entities are specialized in meat production. The list includes “Marila”, “NatFood”, “Mush”, “Bacon Product”, “Atenk”, “Bari Samaratsi”, “Babik-90”., “Natali Pharm”.
“Serious changes are to be introduced to the sector. According to the government decision the domestic livestock slaughtering should be implemented in special facilities to significantly reduce the existing risks,” Karapetyan told as quoted by the press service of the service.
Meat producers were given a deadline to comply with the established norms of the production.
“We are ready to support you, attract specialists to fill the gap in the value chain. You are welcome to make use of this opportunity and report all the challenges to the control body with an ultimate goal of having desired quality in the sector,” Karapetyan said, expressing hope the joint efforts will ensure high-quality and safe product for the consumers.
