Russian no demanded language In Armenia, Davit Gasparyan says
“Armenia is not like Kazakhstan or Belarus, where more than half of the population makes up Russians and where Russian is a required language,” Literary critic Davit Gasparyan made this claim during the meeting with the reporters while turning to the claims of granting special status to Russian in the former Soviet countries.
He underscored that Russian is not a demanded language. “The national minorities living in Armenia have high proficiency in Armenian, and we have no issues interacting with each other.”
Meanwhile D. Gasparyan noted that the statement has not been taken for granted. “However such claims should be eliminated immediately, so as it leaves no traces.”
