Tsakhkadzor Mayor: 350 thousand tourists visited the resort town this year
35 percent of Tsakhkadzor residents work in the hotel industry, Tsakhkadzor Mayor Artur Harutyunyan told reporters during the opening ceremony of Ararat Resort Hotel Complex in one Armenia’s most popular resort town Tsakhkadzor.
In the mayor’s words, there are 43 hotels in the town and Ararat Resort is the fifth Five-star hotel operating with another 10 guest houses.
“The tourist inflow was about 60-70 thousand in 2007, while the number reached 350 thousand this year. We have equal number of both local and foreign tourists. Mostly people from former soviet countries visit, yet the number of visitors from European states increases as well,” the Mayor informed.
Director at Ararat Resort Hotel Complex Hayk Beglaryan told reporters the hotel had been constructed in line with the modern international standards with inclusion and availability of all popular services aimed at tourism development.
“About 7,5 milliard AMD were invested in the complex construction with 120 crated job places created. Our motto is “Welcome Home”. We promise to exert every effort to make the guest feel like at their home. The complex has 80 rooms classified in six categories, including Standard, Lux, Classic. Deluxe, Family and Family Lux,” said Beglaryan.
Karine Asatryan, one of the hotel employees told Panorama.am the complex provided employment opportunity not only to Tsakhkadzor residents but also people from nearby settlements, like Hrazdan, expressing her delight over the opportunity to start a career in hotel business.
