Jahangiri: Armenia has its own place in the foreign policy of Iran
“Armenia has its own place in the foreign policy of Iran and we do not intend to set up any limitations in terms of developing our relations with Armenia,” First Vice President of Iran Eshaq Jahangiri noted during today’s meeting with the RA Minister of Energy Infrastructures and Natural Resources Ashot Manukyan in Tehran. Iranian Tasnim news agency reports.
Turning to his visit paid to Armenia during the last year Iran’s First Vice President has particularly said the following: “Fortunately some of the agreements reached in Yerevan have already been realized and we should ensure the realization of the remaining agreements within the Joint Committee.”
“The establishment of the appropriate infrastructures aimed at connecting the Persian Gulf with the Caspian Sea is a good opportunity for raising the bilateral relations to a new qualitative level. Iran and Armenia should provide support to the process of the construction of rail and road infrastructures,” Eshaq Jahangiri has announced.
Notably today the 14th session of the Armenian-Iranian Intergovernmental Commission has launched in Tehran. During the session Iranian Energy Minister has reported that Iran plans to increase the volume of power exchange with Armenia for four times.
