Iranian Energy Minister: Volumes of power swap between Armenia, Iran to increase four times
The 14-th session of the Armenian-Iranian Intergovernmental Commission has launched in Tehran, Mehr agency reported.
According to the source, within the scope of the event Iranian Energy Minister Hamid Chitchian held a meeting with Armenia’s Minister of Infrastructure and Natural Resources Ashot Manukyan to discuss the energy cooperation between the two states.
“Armenia and Iran currently swap 300 MWs of electricity, while we plan to increase the volume of power exchange to 1200 MWs,” the Iranian minister reportedly said
Hamid Chitchian has next expressed hope that the sitting of the joint Commission will contribute to the cooperation enhancement in the railway and air connection, agriculture, water, electricity, mining, oil, petro chemistry, industry, and tourism spheres.
