Museum of German Composers in Khachaturian’s House: Evening dedicated to Richard Strauss
House-Museum of Aram Khachaturian has come up with an interesting initiative. The Museum informed Panorama.am that on 22 December an event dedicated to Richard Strauss will be held in the house under the auspices of the Embassy of Federal Republic of Germany to the RA.
“This year House-Museum of Aram Khachaturian and Khachaturian Trio in cooperation with the Armenian Office of DVV International implemented a program the first event within which held in the museum in June. The program is called “Museum of German Composers in Khachaturian’s House”. The first evening was dedicated to Johannes Brahms and his museums. During the evening the musicians of Khachaturian Trio, as well as Maxim Novikov (viola) and soprano Anna Mailyan performed the chamber works by Brahms. In addition to this, musician Olya Nurijanyan presented Brahms’s biography and the activities of the museums dedicated to him. This event was quite interesting for the society and we tried to make it continuous,” Director of House-Museum of Aram Khachaturian and pianist of Khachaturian Trio Armine Grigoryan noted.
“On 22 December a similar event dedicated to Richard Strauss will be held within the program Museum of German Composers in Khachaturian’s House.
“We applied to the German Embassy to Armenia which supported us to implement the program. During the concert Maxim Novikov will join us and we will perform Strauss’s compositions. We have also contacted the administration of the Strauss Museum in Germany to send us materials to make a slideshow. We still have no opportunity to invite a representative from the German museum to Armenia, but we hope the program will be continuous and we will be able to invite representatives in the future,” A. Grigoryan added.
The director of the House-Museum underscores that Germany has given numerous prominent composers and masterpieces to the world. Due to this fact the Armenian museum has turned to the German museums of composers. House-Museum of Aram Khachaturian plans to implement similar events dedicated to the museums of other countries as well in the future. And in the coming year they have an intention to hold a similar event dedicated to Ludwig van Beethoven.
