Levon Aronian and Hrant Melkumyan to participate in World Chess Rapid and Blitz Championship 2016
On 26-30 December FIDE World Blitz & Rapid Championship will be held in Doha, Qatar. Leading member of Armenian national chess team GM Levon Aronian and GM Hrant Melkumyan will participate in the chess tournament. Chessfed.am reports about this.
World Champion Magnus Carlsen, former world champion Viswanathan Anand , Maxime Vachier-Lagrave Ian Nepomniachtchi Hikaru Nakamura Aleksandr Grishchuk and many other leading players are among the participants as well. 118 chess players, mostly GMs, have already registered to participate in the event.
World Chess Rapid and Blitz Championship 2016 chief arbiter is IA Ashot Vardapetyan.
