Armenian premiere of Rossini's "Cinderella" fairy-tale opera to be held in Opera Theatre
The Armenian premiere of Gioachino Rossini’s famous opera “Cinderella” (La Cenerentola) will be held in Armenian National Academic Theatre of Opera and Ballet named after Alexander Spendiaryan today.
As the Information and Public relations department of the Yerevan Opera Theatre reports the opera will be performed by Gohar Azizyan (Angelina), Perch Karazyan (Don Ramiro), Kim Sargsyan (Don Manifico), Ashot Ghantarjyan (Dandini), Nune Grigoryan (Clorinda), Arevik Gyulbudaghyan (Tizbe) and Hayk Tigranyan (Alido). The conductor of the performance is Zaven Vardanyan, the general conductor is Radik Melikyan and concertmaster is Lyudmila Khorozya. The Symphony Orchestra and Chorus will also participate in the opera concert.
“Cinderella” is one of the best works of Gioachino Rossini. The author has even found humor in the fairy-tale. The opera has been written in 24 days. Rossini’s Cinderella has been performed in the best opera theatres of Europe with the first performance being held in Rome on 25 January 1817.
