Inhabitants of outskirts of Yerevan are waiting for that “one day” to be provided with street lighting
There are some central streets in Armenia’s capital Yerevan what are likely to be renovated every year, as some flaws are observed which make them to be renovated some time later. And what about the state of the neighborhoods located in the outskirts of Yerevan? The roads of those districts have not been renovated al all during the recent years. The citizens living in the outskirts very often come up with complaints regarding the poor conditions of the roads and the lack of street lighting.
Panorama.am informed Deputy Mayor of Yerevan Aram Sukiasyan of the complaints received from the citizens, however he stated that no issues regarding the roads are observed in Yerevan.
In response to the claims that certain complaints have been made by the inhabitants of Nerkin Charbakh district, Deputy Major said that following: “There might be some secondary or tertiary roads that have some issues, however every year we manage to renovate and pave them. We are trying to do our best.”
As they state firstly there are no issues, secondly they will be tackled soon.
Mr. Sukiasyan gave the same reply regarding the issue of the street lighting. “We have started illuminating the city with energy saving led lamps. As for the outskirts of Yerevan, all the possible measures are being taken. I do not think that there are some districts that completely lack illumination. The issue might be observed in some streets of tertiary or quaternary status.”
A. Sukiasyan is convinced that those streets will be illuminated “one day”.
