Music of Tchaikovsky’s “The Nutcracker” ballet to be performed in a new format
Since 2011 Armenian National Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Eduard Topchjan has performed the complete musical composition of “The Nutcracker” ballet by famous Russian Composer Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky for several times. The Philharmonic Orchestra has informed that this year“The Nutcracker” will be performed in a totally new format which is allegedly the first one not only in our country but also worldwide. Due to the contemporary computer technologies 3D animated illustrations will be created. By wearing 3D glasses the audience of the performance will find themselves in a “real fairy-tale world”. The entire concert hall will turn into a 3D screen making the columns, altars and ornaments of the hall to become “animated and transformed”.
Armenian National Philharmonic Orchestra intends to hold this concert in Aram Khachaturian Concert Hall on 24-25 December. The stage director is Sukias Torosyan, 3D design will be provided by Andranik Torosyan. The students of Yerevan State College of Choreography directed by Hovhannes Divanyan will come up with ballet performances in several episodes.
