Azerbaijan should not have approved Israeli Prime Minister’s visit, Iran’s Foreign Ministry Spokesman says
“Azerbaijan should not have agreed on the visit of Israeli Prime Minister,” Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Qassemi noted during today’s press conference, Tasnim Iranian news agency reports.
Turning to the visit paid recently to Azerbaijan by Prime Minister of Israel Benjamin Netanyahu, Foreign Ministry Spokesman of Iran has said the following: “We are witnessing the destructive actions of Israel aimed at causing disagreements in the relations of Islamic countries.”
“We think that Azerbaijan should not have approved that visit. Azerbaijan must be careful to avoid falling into Tel Aviv’ “trap”,” Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman has noted.
Notably prior to Netanyahu’s visit to Azerbaijan former Iranian Ambassador Mohsen Pakaieen told the Iranian news agency Tasnim that Iran did not expect Baku to give consent to Netanyahu’s visit.
