Prime Minister calls ICT sector as locomotive of change in economy, environment and culture alike
Chaired by Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan, Armenian government held today another discussion on the country’s Information and Communication Technology (ICT) sector.
As the press department at the Government reports, the Head of the Cabinet was updated with program proposals about long-term and short-term sector developments, as well as summaries and the course of the drafting of the programs.
It was noted that relevant discussions are underway with the relevant state institutions and the representatives of the sector within a joint working group.
Prime Minister Karapetyan highlighted the cooperation between the state and the private sector for the sector advancement, as well as the need to increase the number of people with mentality and civic position of the ICT sector representatives.
“I attach certain hopes to you, as you may serve the locomotive of change in economy, environment and culture alike,” noted Karapetyan, expressing his readiness to support any constructive initiatives.
It is envisaged that the working results of a package of substantial programs with concrete measures will be presented to the Prime Minister in mid-January, 2017.
