Charles Aznavour awarded with "Nikos Gatsos 2016” Prize
World famous chansonnier Charles Aznavour has been awarded with the Greek Prize “Nikos Gatsos 2016” (named after Greek poet, translator Nikos Gatsos) for being the author of 800 poems. As Leparisien.fr news agency reports, the jury has announced that Aznavour won the award for his “unique style”.
Aznavour has received the award at the Greek Embassy to Paris. The ceremony has been attended by Armenia's Ambassador to France Vigen Chitechyan.
Nikos Gatsos Prize has been awarded since 2012. Every year it is awarded to the authors of song lyrics and poets.
