VivaCell-MTS sums up programs of rehabilitation treatment for children
The results of the cooperation between VivaCell-MTS and Child Daycare and Rehabilitation Center in Kosh community have been summed up. Throughout 2016, 86 children ages 3-14 from Aragatsotn, Armavir and Shirak regions have attended the Daycare Center and received rehabilitation treatment.
According to the release issued by VivaCell-MTS, children with more serious mental and physical disabilities have received intensive therapy. On average, at least 3 specialists have worked with each child, providing individual treatment for five days a week. Children with brain stroke, congenital spina bifida, arthrogryposis, congenital hip dysplasia, autism and children with postoperative complications have been included in the seven-hour individual and group classes in Armenak and Ann Tadevossian’s Medical Center.
The specialists note that the rehabilitation treatment organized due to the cooperation with VivaCell-MTS has resulted in positive changes in the health status of the children attending the Center. Children with hemiplegia (unilateral cerebral palsy) and diplegia have achieved considerable progress in terms of moving without assistance, acquiring basic life skills and communicating. The intensive therapy provided to children with quadriplegia has had considerable effect on their health condition, improving their life quality.
“The target group of Armenak and Anna Tadevossian’s Medical Center is not only children with health issues, but also their parents. By helping these children, we also provide psychological assistance to the parents who have to cope with their problems alone. As a partner of the program, we have also undertaken the mission of supporting the Center in logistic issues and providing necessary tools for its specialists. The results achieved so far are promising. We have succeeded, if we have managed to have even a small contribution to the rehabilitation of these children,” said VivaCell-MTS General Manager Ralph Yirikian.
The company reminds, that since 2013, owing to VivaCell-MTS financial support, the children have had the opportunity to be transferred to and from the rehabilitation center and to receive two meals per day free of charge. Due to the four-year partnership with VivaCell-MTS, the Kosh Center has acquired necessary furniture, professional and supplementary equipment.
