Warm air masses began to penetrate into Armenia this morning. Deputy Head of “Hydromet” Service Meteorological Center of the RA Ministry of Emergency Situations Gagik Surenyan has noted in his facebook post that the air temperature increased by 5-7 °C in all the regions at 10:00am today. For instance if -17…-18 °C was recorded In Yerevan at 10:00 yesterday, today as of 10:00 -10…-12 °C was registered.
As “Hydromet” Service reports on 24 December light snowfall is expected in Shirak, Kotayk, Aragatsotn, Ararat, Armavir, Vayots Dzor regions. On 25-27 December snowfall, as well as snowstorm and low visibility are predicted in the majority of regions. No precipitations are expected on 28 December. The wind is from the northwest with 3-8 m /s speed.
On 25-26 December, particularly overnight, the air temperature will increase by 13-15 °C in Armenia. During the daytime the temperature is expected to rise by 6-8 °C. On 24-27 December light snowfall is predicted in Yerevan. Weather is expected to clear up on 28 December.
