Armenian Minister of Culture gives even worse response regarding Yerevan's Indoor Market
Armenian Minister of Culture Armen Amiryan has not yet managed to completely study the list of cultural monuments under state control.
“It is impossible to get acquainted with all the lists, reports, decisions, laws and legal acts regarding the enormous branches of the culture in three months of time. I guess even the superpower will not help to cope with it all in such a period,” the Minister noted during today’s press conference.
Notably in response to the questions about the Indoor Market ('Pak Shuka') Armen Amiryan has noted that it is not included in the list of the monuments under state protection.
During today’s meeting he made some corrections.” I was corrected: it seems to have been included in the list,” he said.
To note, during the press conference the minister was touching upon an issue that has irritated the public for many years and at least as a citizen interested in the cultural life of the country he must have been aware that Closed Market was included in the list.
To conclude this response made by the Minister of Culture was as strange and indifferent as the previous one.
Speaking about the optimization process in his ministry A. Amiryan noted that the staff will be cut down by 20 percent. “I am sorry to state this as all this affects the human destinies. Meanwhile the system will not get well if no operations are made,” he added.
As for the issues regarding the buildings of Pantomime and Pan-Armenian (Hamazgayin) theatres, the minister considers both of the issues settled, especially the one referring to the Pantomime Theatre.
“There is no need to rush. I assure you that in 2017 we will be informed on the new territory of the theater,” he added.
Turning to the Pan-Armenian (Hamazgayin) Theatre which operates on the first floor of the State Institute of Theatre and Cinematography, the Minister noted the following: “This issue shall be resolved as well. I assure all the concerned lecturers and students that the issues will be tackled separately.”
Armen Amiryan stated that 2017 will be a year full of cultural events which will warm the hearts and souls of the people.
