Armenian Ministry of Diaspora declares 2017 as Artsakh year
“During the April flare-up the Diaspora became united and stood together with Artsakh by issuing statements everywhere and organizing rallies,” RA Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan noted during today’s annual press conference aiming to sum up the year.
She informed that the Ministry has cooperated with over 100 communities and combined its activities with the NKR Government and the Ministry of Defence. “There was no community that failed to provide moral and material assistance to Artsakh. The large-scale movement called “What are you doing for Karabakh?” launched in 2016 to be joined by schools and community structures of 25 European countries. It has widely spread in Diaspora. And for this reason we consulted with several structures of Diaspora and decided to dedicate the activities of the upcoming year to Artsakh. We all must realize that NKR’s power and the settlement of the conflict will lead to strengthening Artsakh’s economy, education, science and defence,” she noted.
Minister of Diaspora added that the books in Artsakh dialect written by Nune Sargsyan have been sent -to the children of Karabakh.
“81-year-old Siran Misakyan Basmajyan, who returned to Armeniam from France 16 years ago and is currently living in Jrashen village of Armavir region, makes cloths using only her pension and sends them to the Armenian servicemen who serve in the bordering regions,” she added.
