Georgian president congratulates Armenians on Holy Christmas
Georgia’s President Giorgi Margvelashvili has congratulated the Armenian people living in Georgia on Christmas and the Epiphany on January 6, as the Armenian Church celebrates the holy birth (Sourp Tsnount) of Jesus Christ and commemorates His baptism by John the Baptist.
In a message posted on the president’s Facebook account President Margvelashvili has wished health, happiness, peace, prosperity to Armenians and their families.
“The friendship between the Georgian and Armenian peoples and the history of our countries are of the same age. The input of ethnic Armenians living is Georgia is of great value for the building and development of Georgia. We are proud of numerous art people, scientists and public figures born in Georgia, likewise Armenia is proud of them,” reads a part of Margvelashvili’s message.
The president’s Facebook post is accompanied by numerous congratulatory comments and thanking messages.
