Representatives of four ethnic minorities can be included in the electoral lists of political parties
Today the Central Electoral Commission of Armenia has released the list of the four ethnic minorities of Armenia the representatives of which can be included in the proportional lists of the political parties taking part in elections in Armenia.
The CEC reports that prior to the regular Parliamentary elections to be held on 2 April the latest population census was conducted in Armenia in 2011, according to the results of which the four largest minorities in Armenia make up the Yezidis (35.308), Russians (11.911), Assyrians (2769) and Kurds (2162).
To note, pursuant to Article 83 of the Electoral Code the representatives of the first four largest minorities in Armenia (based on the data of the latest population census) can be included in the respective electoral lists of the political parties or pre-electoral coalitions.
