Georgia reaches new agreement with Russian “Gazprom” over transit of Russian gas into Armenia
Georgia will pay the Russian energy giant “Gazprom” 185 USD for per thousand cubic metres instead of the former 215 USD. Georgia’s Energy Minister Kakha Kaladze has informed about this, Panorama.am reports.
The minster has briefed the reporters of the Georgian news outlets on the recent negotiations with the Russian energy giant. In his words the Georgian government has agreed to shift the compensation format for the transit of Russian gas through Georgia into Armenia prescribing monetary compensation for the gas transit.
The minister has also announced that pursuant to the reached agreements the Russian side commits to provide additional gas supplies to Georgia in order to fill the deficit during the winter months when gas consumption is higher.
