On 26 January Alexander Aroutyunian Woodwind-piano quartet will have a concert in Komitas Museum-Institute to celebrate one year of its formation. Meanwhile the Armenian presentation of the quartet’s first CD will be held during the concert.
L. Zakaryan noted in one year they have performed several concerts in Armenia, had tours to China during which the presentation of their CD has been held. They have also had a concert in Beirut.
“We have carried out activities for one year only and already the contemporary Armenia composers have made compositions special for our staff, as our group is unique in terms of its musical instruments. As far as I know groups playing such instruments do not exists elsewhere and the compositions that we perform seem to get a second life. In spring we intend to perform the works composed for us by the contemporary Armenia composers for the first time,” Lilit Zakaryan noted.
In her words their quartet has received a warm welcome from the audience from the very first concert, which has inspired them to release a CD.
The Woodwind-piano quartet was formed in remembrance of 95th anniversary of outstanding composer Alexander Aroutyunian.
