Tata Steel: In Round 2 Levon Aronian made a draw against Wei Yi
Round 2 of Tata Steel chess tournament took place yesterday in Netherlands. In this round Levon Aronian’s rival was GM Wei Yi of China. On the 35th move a draw was agreed between the chess players, Panorama.am reports citing chessfed.am.
GM Pavel Eljanov of Ukraine celebrated second victory in a row.
World Champion Magnus Carlsen and GM Pentala Harikrishna claimed the first victories in the tournament.
After two rounds the leader is Pavel Eljanov with 2 points. The leader is closely trailed by Magnus Carlsen and Pentala Harikrishna. Levon Aronian and 6 other players have scored 1 point and share 4-10 places.
In round 3 Aronian’s opponent will be Adhiban Baskaran of India.
