Armenian Men and Women Championships: Round 6 over
Round 6 of Armenian Men and Women Championships took place yesterday, Panorama.am reports referring to Chess Federation of Armenia.
In the central game of the round Hayk Martirosyan defeated reining Armenian Champion and current leader GM Zaven Andriasyan. In round 6 Hovhannes Gabuzyan managed to win his game against Tigran Harutyunyan. Games between Samvel Ter-Sahakyan – Karen Grigoryan, Arman Pashikyan – Tigran L. Petrosyan and Manuel Petrosyan – Robert Hovhannisyan ended in a draw.
After 6 rounds the leader of the tournament is Hayk Martirosyan who has scored 4 points. He is closely trailed by Zaven Andriasyan, who has 3.5 points. Tigran L. Petrosyan, Tigran Harutyunyan, Arman Pashikyan, Samvel Ter-Sahakyan and Robert Hovhannisyan got 3 points and Manuel Petrosyan, Karen Grigoryan and Hovhannes Gabuzyan have 2.5 points.
Four out of five games ended in victories in Women Championship. In Round 6 Armine Babayan defeated current leader Anna Hairapetian. Maria Gevorgyan and Siranush Ghukasyan, who were trailing the leader celebrated important victories. After two defeats in a row, Mariam Avetisyan defeated Nare Arakelyan. The only draw was agreed in the game between Anna Sargsyan and Susanna Gaboyan.
After six rounds Maria Gevorgyan and Siranush Ghukasyan have scored 4.5 points and are leading the table. Anna Hairapetian has 4 points, Mariam Avetisyan is on the fourth place with 3.5 points, Armine Babayan, Susanna Gaboyan and Anna Sargsyan got 3 points apiece, Arpine Grigoryan is on the 8th place with 2 points, Narine Gasparyan got 1.5 points and Nare Arakelyan is on the 10th place with one point.
In Round 7 two leaders – Maria Gevorgyan and Siranush Ghukasyan will play against each other.
