First round of Women’s World Championship to be held on 11 February
FIDE announces the first round pairings for the forthcoming Women’s World Championship to be held in Tehran, Iran. In the first round Elina Danielyan’s opponent will be Padmini Rout and Lilit Mkrtchyan will face Ni Shiqun. Panorama.am reports referring to the Chess Federation of Armenia.
As the source informs the opening ceremony of the championship will take place on 10 February and the games of the first round on 11 February. Women’s World Championship in Tehran will be held in knockout format. 64 chess players are taking part in the championship.
