Seyran Ohanyan set to join Oskanian-Dallakyan-Sargsyan bloc
Former Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan will join the new alliance formed by Consolidation, (Hamakhmbum), the Third Republic Party and the Democratic Party of Armenia (HDK). Head of the Consolidation faction Vartan Oskanian noted the aforesaid during the interview conducted by RFE/RL’s Armenian service (Azatutyun.am), Panorama.am reports.
“Currently he (Ohanian) is not a member of any party, and I think that he has no intentions to join any of them, as we have issues of expanding our bloc. The core of the alliance is already formed, however we have an issue of forming a larger bloc and to take part in the upcoming parliamentary elections and to carry out a regime change in the country,” Oskanian has noted.
Asked why Ohanian made such a sudden decision to join an opposition alliance Oskanian noted that any patriot person can take such a bold step. “He is concerned about the future of his country, he can observe the current issues and I am one of his allies,” he added.
In the words of Oskanian his and Seyran Ohanian’s joint presence in the political arena should offer the people the kind of alternative which they want to see in the run-up to the elections.
As for the talks with Heritage (Zharangutyun) party Oskanian noted there are no disagreements with the party and he did not rule out the possibility of the party to join the newly formed bloc.
