Birthday anniversary of prominent Armenian poetess Silva Kaputikyan to be marked today
On the occasion of the 98th anniversary of the birth of the beloved Armenian poetess and prose writer Silva Kaputikyan, the Kaputikyan House Museum along with the Charents Museum of Literature and Arts of Armenia has organized a visit to Yerevan Komitas Pantheon to hold a ceremony of perpetuating the memory of the poetess at her tomb.
The visit will be followed by an event dedicated to the memory of the poetess at the museum house.
The representative of the house museum Anahit Kerobyan told Panorama.am the museum collection comprises 6000 exhibits with some 700 to be displayed.
“Our museum welcomes 30-40 thousand visitors annually. Last year the number of attenders dropped slightly due to introduction of admission charges. Mostly students and Diaspora Armenians visit the museum. The number of foreigners in attendance is high as well,” Mrs. Kerobyan said.
The house museum was established in 2009 in an apartment where Kaputikyan had lived for 30 years. The house turned into a museum at the initiative of Kaputikyan herself, who also arranged all the items that have remained unchanged thus far.
Mrs. Kerobyan informed the house museum has launched preparation works for marking the 100th anniversary of the writer with temporary exhibitions to be displayed.
“We possess a rich collection, including letters, video footages that are to be worked out and presented on the occasion of that remarkable date,” Mrs. Kerobyan said.
