Maria Gevorgyan becomes Armenia’s chess champion
Armenian Women Championship 2017 is over. In the final round Maria Gevorgyan defeated Nare Arakelyan and the leader of the tournament Siranush Ghukasyan lost his game against Anna Hayrapetyan. Panorama.am reports referring to the Chess Federation of Armenia.
After 9 rounds Ghukasyan and Gevorgyan scored 6.5 points apiece, however due to the advantage of additional points Maria Gevorgyan became the chess champion of Armenia for the second time in a row.
Susanna Gaboyan and Anna Sargsyan scored 6 points. Gaboyan won the bronze medal due to the additional accessories. Anna Hayrapetyan took the fourth place.
