No problems related to Armenia’s Nuclear Power Plant, Hayk Harutyunyan assures
There are no problems related to Armenia’s Nuclear Power Plant. Deputy Minister of Energy Infrastructures and Natural Resources Hayk Harutyunyan noted the aforesaid during today’s press conference commenting on the recent actuation of the 110KV first poles differential protection of the Armenian power plant. Panorama.am reports.
“It was a problem of the Nuclear Power Plant. It was an ordinary problem of the high-voltage power transmission lines. The cause of the issue is the ice accumulation. This case showed that the protection systems of the power plant are operating perfectly. The issue was tackled in a short period preventing any system failure. I would like to emphasize once again that it was not a problem of the Nuclear Power Plant,” Hayk Harutyunyan noted.
The deputy minister underscored that currently no problems are observed regarding the power plant. “No one has observed the problem as the system is operating perfectly and the technical equipment is on a high level,” he added.
To note due to a power outage in the high-voltage (110kV) power transmission lines the 110KV differential protection of the first poles initiated on January 21.
