Agenda for new round of talks on NKR conflict settlement not set yet, Maria Zakharova says
The agenda on organizing new round of talks over the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict is not set yet. Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova noted the aforesaid during today’s briefing in response to the question related to the plans of arranging a meeting between Armenian and Azerbaijani presidents through the mediation of Russia, Panorama.am reports.
To note, a meeting between Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergey Lavorv and Armenia’s Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian was held in Moscow earlier, which was followed by the meeting between FM Lavrov and his Azerbaijani counterpart Elmar Mammadyarov.
“New meetings will certainly be held, however the agenda has not been set yet. The issue is considered a top priority of Russia’s foreign policy agenda, thus the talks in different formats will be continuous,” she noted.
Turing to the discussions held during the meetings of the foreign ministers Zakharova noted that the necessary information over the dialogues was made available to the larger sector of the society.
“I have no additional information over the topic. It is really a very sensitive theme. The talks were constructive and covered different ideas over the settlement of the NKR conflict,” she added.
