Bad weather disrupts airport, port operations in Batumi, Georgia
Bad weather has caused some issues in eastern Georgia. In Adjara region of the country over 5 thousand people have been left without power, Panorama.am reports referring to the Georgian media outlets. The source informs that technical groups are working in an emergency mode.
Due to bad weather and abundant snowfalls the operations of Batumi International Airport have been suspended for three days and the sea port has been closed for navigation for two days.
The intensive snow removal activities are underway in the center of the city. A special machine is being used with a total of 50 people taking part in the cleaning works. Snow has also caused issues in the country’s seaside city Kobuleti.
Kindergarten operations and school classes have also been suspended due to the bad weather conditions.
